Mungyeong Traditional Chasabal Festival

Mungyeong Traditional Chasabal (ceramic tea cup) Festival will be held in the area of Mugyeongsaejae in Gyeongsangbuk-do from May 2 to May 9, 2015. Marking its 17th year, the festival will have thematic events with a story about pottery makers throwing clay on the potter’s wheel.

Admission/Participation Fees
Admission: Adult - 5,000 won; Teen and Children - 3,000 won
(Included with admission is one yeopjeon (coin) worth 2,000 won to use like cash at the festival venue.)

-Moulding Ceramic Ware : Moulding a ceramic work by spinning, and taking it

Experiencing the Inside of a Mangdaengi Kiln

- Explanation of a Mangdaengi kiln(a furnace, the first room, the second room, and others)
- Displaying the completed ceramic ware kept in the kiln after biscuit firing, glazing, and the second firing
- Putting up a board which explains the temperature and time of firing ceramic ware

Painting Pictures on Chasabal

- Preparing ceramic ware for biscuit firing such as tea cups and plates
